It's time to look ahead...

In case you needed reminding, it's now an absolute age until the final season of Game Of Thrones lands on screens (possibly as far away as Spring, 2019), and it's almost impossible to bear, even with terribly hip criticisms of the penultimate season ringing around the Internet.

The next year will be the Longest Night, punctuated not only by terrors but also by sparse Thrones nourishment in the shape of casting calls, rumours and shapeless set leaks. The good thing about this being the final season, of course, is that the speculation will have far more focus than ever before. We know just about where we'll end up and which storylines need to be wrapped up before the final credits roll in just six episodes' time.

Inevitably, fans will spend the next few weeks and months returning to season 7, picking over absolutely everything we saw in the explosive episodes and working out exactly what the lay of the land is before the final season kicks off. And luckily, there's enough in there - and in early seasons - to offer a fairly insightful look at how the Great Game could be resolved and the Great War ended. And if it's all accurate, there's a lot to look forward to.

So what's going to happen?
