Game Of Thrones: 5 Changes To The Books In 'The Gift'

Everything's the same, but different.

Any adaptation, whether its from a book or a graphic novel or just a person€™s life, makes changes to the source material in order to suit the demands of its intended medium. Game of Thrones, in bringing George R.R. Martin€™s epic A Song of Ice and Fire series to life, has been no different; each season has seen tweaks, additions and omissions for the sake of telling the story within a 10-episode season. As it nears the point where it catches up with the books currently published, and is likely to overtake them with season 6, showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff have started to deviate further and further away from the text. Season 5 has already seen changes to a variety of storylines, including Jaime and Bronn going to Dorne, the death of Barristan Selmy, and Sansa Stark being wed to Ramsay Bolton, while the Ironborn plot from A Feast For Crows, and the Young Griff and Quentyn Martell plots from A Dance With Dragons, all seem to have been cut entirely. These changes continued in the latest episode The Gift, including one very significant moment that both show and books had been building up to, but only the former has actually reached. That wasn€™t the only incident though, so here€™s a look at what got lost in translation from page to screen.
