Game Of Thrones Casting Seven New Characters For Season 8

3. Mercenary

Cersei Tycho Game Of Thrones
HBO

Description: Aged 35-50, he's "an authoritative, fit, cool and charismatic military type.” He'll appear in two episodes, and needs to be able to ride a horse. Filming will commence in December, and then again around May/June.

As Watchers point out, this sounds a lot like a member of the Golden Company. Euron Greyjoy was on his way to collect the band of sellswords for Cerei at the end of Season 7, so it's certain they'll turn up in Season 8 (and now we pretty much know it'll be for two of the six instalments). The captain-general of the Company in the books is Harry Strickland, who is described as portly, so it seems the show might have a new character heading up the sellswords.

Interestingly, this also confirms that Season 8 will be shooting until at least June time, and potentially even later. It's really going to be a long wait for Season 8.
