Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Questions We're Asking After 'Book Of The Stranger'

The time has come to join the fray.

Game of Thrones has made a very strong start to Season 6, but things really kicked into gear this week with Book of the Stranger.

The fourth episode of the year, it continued the general scene-setting and tension-building, but really turned up the heat. Literally, in the case of Daenerys.

Her story, which had felt like a total retread of the early days, exploded into life as she found a fiery way of defeating the Dothraki. The rest of the plots picked up pace as well, as we took a major step towards a War for the North, and a battle between the Lannisters, Tyrells, and the Faith in King's Landing.

It was an episode full of sibling reunions, strong women, political scheming (usually present anyway, but inevitable with the return of Petyr Baelish), some incredibly harshly-worded hate mail, and a huge ending. There was some great acting throughout - Sophie Turner, Jonathan Pryce, and Emilia Clarke all stand out - and it really pushed the plot and the characters forward.

With big developments in some of the show's key locations, especially the North and Vaes Dothrak, and steps taken in the likes of Pyke, it set things up very well for the coming episodes, and left us with plenty to ponder in the meantime.

10. Who'll Win The Kingsmoot?

Theon Greyjoy finally makes it back to the Iron Islands this week, a place he hasn't been since Season 2.

It's not the happiest of reunions, given that Yara doesn't offer him the warmest of welcomes, but the pair reconcile when he says that he'll support her in the Kingsmoot.

We haven't heard too much about that - though it's going to come to the fore next week - so it's a timely reminder, and surely Theon's backing - as the only son of Balon - would make Yara's case stronger, unless the Ironborn really do look upon him as someone who's weak.

Can she win, or will it be Euron who becomes King of the Iron Islands? The latter is the more likely option, though it's a shame we haven't seen more of him before this happens, but you can't totally discount the idea of the show doing something different and having Yara be named Queen.
