Game Of Thrones Season 6: 6 Characters Ian McShane Could Be Playing

Thrones is adding some Deadwood.

The dust has settled, the screams have quietened down, and season 5 of Game of Thrones is fading a little into the past. What matters now is the future. Production is underway on the sixth season of the show, which is now well past the halfway mark and will surely be looking to ramp things up heading towards the ultimate endgame. With the actors coming back, a lot of the focus has been on whether you-know-who (no, not Voldemort, but sorry for saying the name) is coming back, surrounding a lot of chatter about the actor being spotted and set and whether or not they've had a haircut. Now though we have our first big casting announcement for the upcoming season, and it's a really exciting one. Ian McShane, who previously starred in Deadwood, is making his return to HBO in 2016. He is one of the bigger names the show has cast, and suitably it has been confirmed that he'll have an important role. EW, who broke the news, describe the actor has having "a relatively small amount of screen-time during the season, yet his character is of key importance." The one thing they don't reveal is the most crucial bit of information: just who exactly he is playing. He's 72, yet can get away with playing much younger, so there would seem to be a variety of characters he could be appearing as, especially considering the casting call that was previously leaked. These are the characters the he'd most likely seem to fit, based on the actor, the calls, and a little bit of wishful thinking...
