Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Huge Shocks That Could Happen

There's no way you're ready...

We're now getting perilously close to the end of the harrowing wait that has yawned terribly all the way back to the end of season 6 of Game Of Thrones, and you can almost taste the excitement. It's a joy that is tainted somewhat by the haunting inevitability of the ocean of blood and emotional devastation that will wash over Westeros this season as we hurtle towards the Great War to end all wars, but it's intoxicating all the same.

One of the reasons Game Of Thrones has been so remarkably well-received over the years is its reliance on the currency of shock. However you first came to Westeros - whether through the books or the show - few experiences could rival the catastrophic revelation of the Red Wedding or Jon Snow's death or the end of poor Shireen or the trauma of Hodor's final stand. They're so synonymous with George RR Martin's story-telling that they could almost be called Thrones Moments.

If you aren't expecting more hugely unexpected moments, then you probably haven't been paying enough attention. And the beauty of the seventh season is that there are no books at all for it to be based on.

Even at this late stage - and with a barrage of spoilers already out in the wild - there are lots of big surprises that could happen that aren't on the radar too much. Without the source material as a primary reference, all bets are off...
