When Disney promised they'd be making their own streaming platform and taking all of their content back from other third party partners, it looked like the end was going to be near for the Netflix arm of the MCU. Surely there was no way the company would allow them to continue making those shows when they'd be a direct rival?
But if that is the case, it's not currently a major consideration for Netflix's plans with the shows, because it seems that there could be more spin-offs from the current core of Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher.
During Netflix’s presentation at the Television Critics Association today, vice president of original content for Netflix, Cindy Holland, confirmed that spin-off discussions were ongoing:
Could that mean we might actually get the Daughters Of The Dragon series? How about a Heroes For Hire team-up that might rescue Iron Fist from the critical dump? Maybe Hellcat should get her own spin-off? There are definitely some options in there and it could well be that we'll see more from this branch of the universe before Disney do eventually pull the plug and take their toys back.
