Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, a writing duo responsible for many episodes of Lost, have sold a fairy tale television series to ABC. Once Upon A Time is “a mix of sci-fi and fantasy with a strong mystery element”, according to Variety. “[The] premise is a modern-day take on fairy tales, with a female protagonist who comes from a unique background…. [and] takes place in a small Maine town during the present time.”
The writers are currently scripting the horror movie Ouija, having just finished work on Tron Legacy’s screenplay.

So I guess this means that ABC has no intention of moving forward with the Fables series then, as there is no way they’ll develop two series with the premise of “a modern-day take on fairy tales.”
Shame, hopefully someone else will buy the Fables rights off ABC.
If The Walking Dead is a success I imagine quite a few companies will be looking for adult comic book series to develop.
I’m interested in seeing this! I can’t find any info on the web about it though….
The premise sounds exciting. I don’t usually watch ABC shows, but this sounds good enough to make an exception!
