Orange Is The New Black Season 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

The continuing adventures of Piper Chapman (in jail).

Anyone who obsessively binge-watched season one of the wonderful Netflix-original Orange is the New Black (don't even try to pretend you didn't) will be shivering in anticipation now that we€™ve been gifted with teaser trailers, promo pictures, and the first 50 seconds of the opening episode in the past few weeks. It€™s no secret that Netflix€™s most popular original series has all of the compulsive qualities that made a show like Breaking Bad so successful, merging painful drama and hilarious comedy effortlessly whilst creating a show more more-ish than Pringles. Season one ended on a series of cliffhangers for many of the ensemble cast. After being left to fend for herself by prison guard Healy against the dangerous Pennsatucky who attacks her with a shiv we see Piper full-on break, but with no resolution of this. Mendez (Porn-stache) believes he€™s in love with Daya, blissfully unaware that fellow prison guard John is the true father of her unborn child. Red was overthrown as head chef, Tricia€™s death is still running shockwaves across the prison, and Piper tells Alex that she picks Larry whilst Larry realises Piper is the problem in their relationship. Phew. The writers have said that Orange is the New Black is going to be moving into more of an ensemble affair, rather than focusing on Piper as the primary character. This will be a great shift in a number of ways as we'll see more of each of the characters get rounded out with their own intriguing backstory and plotlines. The teaser trailer especially promises that €œit will hit the fan€, and this clearly references the majority of them - both inmates and guards. So, without further ado, and with heavy reference to the teaser, here are 10 clear reasons to be excited about the coming of Orange is the New Black season two...
