Stranger Things Season 2: 9 Crazy Fan Theories (That Might Actually Be True)

9. The Episode Titles

Stranger Things The Pollywog
Netflix

Netflix sent everyone theorising last when the titles were revealed for Season 2 - and naturally, most of those can be discarded somewhat since they've changed almost all of them, on account of them being too revealing and some fans guessing what they meant.

The premiere is still Madmax - a reference to one of the new characters - but most of the others have been changed up. The only other one that remains from that initial announcement is The Pollywog, which is likely reference to a new 'pet' Dustin has. We've heard he bonds with a creature not from this dimension or planet, and it's presumably the pollywog meant by that.

Trick or Treat, Freak is a fairly standard Halloween name; Will The Wise suggests Will playing a key role in things, perhaps due to his knowledge of the Upside Down and the new Shadow Monster; Dig Dug could well mirror the arcade game it's named after, which involves the player having to eliminate underground monsters; The Spy is vague, but likely refers to the underhand government operations (and maybe Hopper's role).

Chapters 7, 8, and 9 are being left unrevealed for now, but the three originally in that placement were The Secret Cabin, The Brain, and The Lost Brother. The Secret Cabin could be a reference to where Eleven is after being brought back; and the Lost Brother might be another one of the children experiments were performed upon, being a brother (perhaps even literally) of El.
