All roads have led to this: next week Season 6 of The Big Bang Theory will come to an end. And while it has taken a full 23 episodes to get to this point, there are still many questions left to be answered as we head into the finale. Let’s take a quick look back at the past two episodes before the seasons end, and where we may be headed coming out of episode 24.
Raj and Lucy Make Significant Progress
Over the past few weeks, we have watched the relationship between Raj and his similarly-troubled girlfriend Lucy start to really take off. Most of their communication barriers have been broken down, and Raj continues to push Lucy past her fears of confrontation. With several funny scenes over dinner, Raj and Lucy made great strides in moving forward with their time spent together, and a big kiss was shared as they were separated by a chain link, barb-wired covered fence (perhaps a sign of a few obstacles still lying ahead!) that Lucy was trapped behind.
All in all, I’m pleased with the progression of the Raj character this season. He’s gone from being the one-dimensional, stereotypical, fish-out-of-water, ethnic, comic relief character, to a reborn member of the group who is all heart; this is very similar to the progress that Howard had made over the past 2 seasons as well. What lies ahead for Raj is probably the most unclear of all members of the cast, but rest assured he will move forward in season 7. His parents still need filled in on his new, white, American, love interest, and their relationship still has room to grow. And they still have to make it unscathed through next week’s season finale!
