The Inbetweeners USA Remake First Image Does Jay No Favours

A first look promotional image from MTV's The Inbetweeners USA remake has made its way online. The image above shows our favourite band of misfits who have been Americanised for a whole new audience. From left to right we have Simon (Bubba Lewis), Will (Joey Pollari), Neil (Mark L. Young) and Jay (Zack Pearlman) portraying the clueless foursome made famous in the E4 comedy by Joe Thomas, Simon Bird, Blake Harrison and James Buckley. The major differences in the first look image are the appearances of Neil and Jay. The former has been given an upgrade of a significant amount of hair and the latter has been translated to America as a goofball who wouldn't look out of place in The Three Stooges. Simon and Will aren't too dissimilar from what we remember them to be, Will with his briefcase and Simon even with his signature yellow car door in his hand. Anthony Stewart Head, who cameod as Will's estranged father in the opening scene of The Inbetweeners movie last year has seemingly seen the movie and is positive about it;
"I have to say, sometimes you wonder about translations it's good, actually," he said. "They followed very close. Its themes are pretty common."
The Inbetweeners will debut on MTV in the US on August 20th, leading into the British big-screen outing getting a release stateside on September 7th.
