The Simpsons: 10 Awesome Easter Eggs

wwhere's wally Since its arrival all the way back in 1989 The Simpsons has become a cornerstone of popular culture. Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa have become the staple of a healthy Television diet, in Britain the 6pm television show is synonymous with Springfield and at this point its inhabitants and quite frankly it€™s extremely difficult to imagine or our lives without them. This is a list of 10 €˜easter eggs€™ hidden throughout The Simpsons' 24 season life span. Little nods or jokes to the audience that have been carefully littered through out the episodes. Some are call backs, others references to other TV shows/films whilst some are just outright hilarious. Note: This list is in no particular order...

10. Matt Groening Cameo - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

groening A simple but effective little cameo from Matt Groening takes place in the twelfth episode of the fifth season. Mayor Quimby€™s obnoxious nephew Freddy has been accused of assaulting a French waiter and whilst the whole town believes he is guilty it turns out Bart is the event's only witness and knows Freddy is innocent. However to save Freddy he must first admit to everyone that he was skipping the day off school. When the trial is taking place the courtroom€™s sketch artist is none other than Simpsons creator Matt Groening! This is highlighted by his signature on the bottom of his Lionel Hutz sketch. This isn€™t the only cameo Groening makes however, if you look closely on the €˜Banned for life€™ wall at Androids Dungeon you will see a shot of him there as well.
