10. Faith Off

In the realm of adult cartoons, The Simpsons have been rather respectful toward religion and spirituality in comparison to some of their contemporaries. Episodes from “Homer the Heretic” to “She of Little Faith” offer positive messages about spirituality and what it gives people in their lives.

That said, the show is not above taking potshots at deserving targets, as is the case with “Faith Off,” which sees Bart takes a crack at faith healing and briefly believes his own hype.

While not an overall great episode–save for the opening act which sees Homer reunite with his nerd companions from “Homer Goes to College” to engage in wacky hijinks–there’s still enough great gags and memorable lines ("one million times") to keep someone coming back. Not to mention, it features one of the show’s most underrated musical numbers in “Testify.”
