The Walking Dead: 10 Things Season 6 Has Got Right (So Far)

"Thank you." BANG.

There's a reason 14 million people still tune in for The Walking Dead; it's a pretty damn good show. Everyone has their own personal favourite moments or styles for the show, but it caters for a wide audience, with the only common denominator being that nobody minds a bit of gore splattered across the screen. The Walking Dead is going to depths that classic zombie films simply don't have the time to roam, and its analysis of the human condition often jumps ahead of 'kill everyone' on the list of things to emphasise in the show. It does have huge moments of action, but the entire story revolves around the group of survivors slowly descending to the point where they can be considered 'the walking dead'. Season 6 has offered up a mixed-bag of episodes before the mid-season break, so here are 10 things the first half of the current run got right.

10. Flashbacks

Kicking off with a 2-for-1, the flashbacks during the season premiere were excellently done, and the black and white enhanced the entire episode, bringing a clear structure to an otherwise messy situation. So many plots were rumbled on in Season 5 that needed clearing up quickly, and the flashbacks achieved that. Many people would've actually expected the fallout from Season 5 to take up a lot of Season 6, which would've been predictable and fairly dull compared to a fresh, new story. TWD basically condensed a half-season's worth of content into one episode so that the show could progress with delay. It was a great move and put the season on the right path.
