The Walking Dead Season 5: First 8 Episodes Ranked Worst To Best

From Terminus to Atlanta, which steps along the way were better than the rest?

And just like that, the first half of The Walking Dead's fifth season has left our heads spinning and the wait for February already feeling a lifetime away. These past eight weeks have taken fans - and the characters we love - on a rollercoaster ride from the deadly confines of Terminus, onto the road to D.C. and even back to Atlanta. We've said goodbye to a handful of characters, encountered new dangers and continued to enjoy the show's walker designs and all the new, creative ways that they can be dealt with. Despite its enormous strengths and a clear spike in critical acclaim, the season has, like its predecessors, divided quite a few people, with some continuing after all these years to bemoan that the show just hasn't been good since season one, others lamenting the season's shift into low gear after its explosive start and even more loving it for everywhere it's taken us. Whatever your personal feeling on the show, its status as a ratings powerhouse coupled with its relentless popularity has ensured that the series has a bright future ahead. Though we have a little over two months to go before we catch up with Rick and the gang again for the season's back half, there's a lot to mull over when it comes to where we've left off and the season's journey up to it. So before we look ahead to what's next, let's take a look back at the first eight episodes of the season and stack them up to see which ones exemplify the best of what The Walking Dead has to offer.
