Titans Season 2: 4 Ups & 2 Downs From ‘Conner’

Superboy makes his presence felt in yet another compelling character-driven episode of Titans.

Titans is used to putting its viewers through a rollercoaster of emotions. Though it has done so from the very beginning, it made sure that its second season's rollercoaster has been a much more enjoyable one - one that allowed us to see the Titans face off against Deathstroke with Jason Todd's life hanging in the balance.

That said, it pulled a page out of its Season 1 playbook this week as, just when the stakes were at their highest, it shifted gears completely to focus on a different part of its overall puzzle.

Instead of immediately giving us the answers we needed in regards to Jason's fate, 'Conner' continued the story of Conner Kent a.k.a. Superboy, who we first met (and haven't seen since) at the conclusion of the first season. The result was a solid full-scale introduction to the character that both recapped his origins for anyone unaware and gave us a real chance to get to know him better. And, in spite of its unrelated beginning, it effectively managed to tie his arc to the show's current narrative.
