4 Preliminary Card Predictions For UFC 175
UFC 175 hosts what might be the best preliminary card fight in years thanks to the presence of Urijah Faber.
FacebookOf late, UFC prelims have been... lacking, lets say. In previous years, preliminary fights were used to build excitement, and convince fans to order Pay-Per-View events they might not have paid for otherwise. In recent months, however, the prelims have just sort of been there because they have to be there. They've almost proved to be an after thought, doing little to sell anyone on purchasing the main event. Things, however, seem to have changed for the upcoming UFC 175. UFC 175 marks the UFCs biggest PPV event of the year thus far, and a lot is riding on it after the lacklustre sales of UFC 173 and UFC 174. To combat this, the UFC has placed one of its biggest stars in the lower weight classes, multi-weight class title contender Urijah Faber, in the headlining slot of the prelims, where he will be taking on Alex Caceres. Can Bruce Leeroy be the first man to beat Faber outside of a title fight? This is a battle that many expected to be third on the PPV, after Chael Sonnen retired. Instead, it appears the UFC is using it to build buzz, and get fans to impulse buy the event. Does Faber ever put on a dull fight? Not one in recent memory at least. A couple of other fights hold the potential for fireworks as well. So lets take a gander at all four fights on the UFC 175 preliminary card, and see what lies ahead.
