Bayley's incredible 2015 will unquestionably be best remembered for her matches against Sasha Banks at the August and October NXT TakeOver events. However, away from those incredible contests (and several other choice affairs with her Four Horsewomen comrades and Alexa Bliss), the 'Hugger' performed a minor miracle in her London clash with Nia Jax.

Even more out of her depth than she now looks on Monday Night Raw, Jax was utterly hopeless in her first few months on NXT TV. Despite every effort to present her as a monster, her complete inability to do anything particularly well hampered any sense of the peril the character was supposed to inspire.

It mattered not to the NXT Women's Champion, who was on inspired form and working up to the white hot reaction she received from a raucous Wembley Arena crowd.

A one-woman show, Bayley carried Jax to what still remains her best ever match. Selling her unconvincing offence as if she was being hit by a truck, it was a giving display layered with nuance, as the champion constantly looked for ways to beat her bigger foe during her rare spells of offence.

Attuned perfectly to the power of her facials and body language, Bayley exhibited equal parts trepidation and frustration and delivered showmanship her challenger was nary capable of matching. Defeating Nia with persistence and grit rather than sudden impact, the resolve as she clung onto a guillotine choke for the victory was shared by a captivated crowd.
