10 Best Heel Turns In Wrestling History

7. The Heartbreak Kid, His Partner, And The Barbershop Window

The Rockers, Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, had been a very successful tag team since they began teaming in 1985. Their runs in the AWA, Memphis, and the WWF had established them as one of the best in-ring teams in the business and gave Shawn and Marty a spotlight to showcase their impressive skills. While they never captured the WWF Tag Team Titles (at least not officially), they always seemed to be in the mix and always got a good crowd response during their matches.

Once it was decided to split the team, The Rockers showed the standard signs of a tag team in distress: miscommunication, losing matches, arguing, etc.. It finally came to a head on a January 1992 edition of Brutus Beefcake's talk show, the Barber Shop. The first sign that Shawn was evil should have been his black leather jacket, but Jannetty ignored that obvious indicator and attempted to patch things up.

After a reunion appeared to have taken place, Jannetty got distracted and Shawn blasted him with a superkick. Then, in an oft-replayed moment, he threw Jannetty through the glass window of the Barber Shop, ending the partnership permanently. Michaels took Sherri Martel as his manager and became the "Heartbreak Kid", winning the WWF Intercontinental Title from the British Bulldog soon after and launching his Hall of Famer singles career.

It was a great heel turn and set HBK on the road to superstardom.
