Bad News Barrett had a number of runs with the Intercontinental Championship, and pretty much all of them were exercises in making the Englishman look as weak as possible. Nobody lost more non-title matches than the bearer of bad news, and if you can remember a decent feud Barrett had over the title you are a better man than me.

He did have a great title defence against Dolph Ziggler in the summer of 2014, however, which showed how much value Barrett had for the company if booked as a strong champion. Ziggler brought the fight to Barrett throughout, but the fast-paced offence of the Show-Off couldn't quite get the job done.

As Ziggler flung himself at Barrett for a Stinger Splash he had the misfortune of finding only a vicious Bull Hammer, giving Wade the W.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
