10 Best WWE Returns Of 2019 (So Far)

We all love a good comeback, and this year has had plenty of them.

It's safe to say that 2019 has not been WWE's finest year. Stuck on repeat and creatively spent, the company has taken drastic measures to regenerate fan interest in its ailing product and while some of this 'newer' approach has been occasionally intriguing (the 24/7 Championship), most of it has simply resulted in frustrating (and never-ending) pushes and all-round poor storytelling.

However, that doesn't mean that the creative team aren't capable of producing a few feelgood moments every now and again - which they usually give us in the form of a much-loved superstar's return.

Everybody loves a good comeback, simply because when they are executed right, they can genuinely catch us all off-guard and, in the process, get us to sit up and pay attention - even if only for a moment.

From long-time fan-favourites returning from the injured list to beloved veterans adding a much-needed dose of nostalgia, 2019 has enjoyed more than a few memorable comebacks. However, now that we're halfway through the year, the question emerges: Who did it best?

With that in mind, let's showcase the best returns that WWE has given us so far in 2019.

10. Hulk Hogan - Raw (7 January 2019)

Ever since Hulk Hogan made amends with WWE, the company hasn't made much use of him at all... you know, except for that questionable decision to have him make his long-awaited return at Crown Jewel of all places (classic WWE). However, it's hard to fault his subsequent return, which took place during Raw's tribute to the late, great Gene Okerlund (who sadly passed away at the beginning of this year).

Hogan and 'Mean' Gene were, in many ways, one of the most important duos of the Golden Era, as each of them would directly benefit the other's career, with their countless legendary backstage promos highlighting how much of a dream team they were.

With that in mind, it's easy to see why WWE chose Hogan to honour Okerlund because, at the end of the day, there was simply no one else who could have done it in a more meaningful way - and he pulled it off, delivering a surprisingly touching (and fitting) tribute to the legendary announcer.

'Mean' Gene would have been proud.
