Plenty of WWE wrestlers past, and one or two present, have not been utilised to their full potential for one reason or another. Most of them, however - Rob Van Dam, John Morrison, and Shelton Benjamin, for instance - share in common the fact that they were somehow raw or unproven.

But in Diamond Dallas Page, WWE had inherited from WCW a ready-made main event star who had held the Big Gold Belt three times and headlined more shows than we can count. By the following year, he was released after a short stint as European Champion, capping off an unfulfilling run in which we weren't even given the chance to see the dream feud against The Rock finally become a reality.
