Plenty of WWE wrestlers past, and one or two present, have not been utilised to their full potential for one reason or another. Most of them, however - Rob Van Dam, John Morrison, and Shelton Benjamin, for instance - share in common the fact that they were somehow raw or unproven.

But in Diamond Dallas Page, WWE had inherited from WCW a ready-made main event star who had held the Big Gold Belt three times and headlined more shows than we can count. The fact that he was completely shunned - even when Vince McMahon desperately needed big names to make his Invasion angle a success - remains something of a mystery.

Worse yet, the then-45-year-old was made instead to partake in a bizarre storyline wherein he stalked Undertaker's wife in the hopes of making a splash in his new stomping ground, which apart from being completely out of character, killed his chances of ever being taken seriously.

By the following year, he was released after a short stint as European Champion, capping off an unfulfilling run in which we weren't even given the chance to see the dream feud against The Rock finally become a reality.
