Don't get us wrong, it absolutely, positively sucked that the planned Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey scrap didn't happen at Survivor Series due to injury. As much as that was a missed opportunity though, it wasn't actually WWE's fault; Nia Jax, we're bloody looking at you. Besides, it's bound to happen at some point, possibly at WrestleMania 35, and it's sure to be a cracker when it does.

If that doesn't count, then what does?

How about landmark shows that degenerated into farce and whizzed past without major incident, heel teases that should've been followed up on, nifty ideas that turned into a laughing stock and emotional returns that (retrospectively) seem mistimed and misfired? In short, a lot.

There were also title promises that went unfulfilled, some shoddy booking that turned a promising tag team into two singles goofs, gross mismanagement of NXT hopefuls and severely crap excuses for continuing one of WWE's most knackered ideas. 2018 will forever be remembered for Daniel Bryan's comeback, Shawn Michaels' one-off return and Roman Reigns' bravery.

Unfortunately, it'll also be remembered for missed chances...
