10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (July 11)
WWE need to continue that chaotic feel before Battleground's 6-man tag...
By the time this week's Monday Night Raw rolls around, WWE will have four major television programs to play with before Battleground. That should be more than enough to pad out the pay-per-view with some new matches, but the WWE Title situation will still remain hampered by the absence of Roman Reigns.
Roman's suspension has obviously come at a bad time, as WWE are gearing up for a huge Triple Threat main event at Battleground between former members of The Shield. Reigns won't be part of that build at all, and he can't return until the house show taking place the night before Battleground.
This means that both Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins must continue to joust it out between themselves until the pay-per-view. Recently, it's been Ambrose who has been getting the upper hand (verbally and physically) on his rival, but there really needs to be some sense of threat from Rollins before the Triple Threat.
Here, a series of ten booking steps predicting what may realistically happen on Raw, incuding furthering the title pictures of more than just the WWE Championship...
10. Kevin Owens Beats Dolph Ziggler
The ending of SmackDown was perfect: Kevin Owens watched Sami Zayn defeat Chris Jericho before jumping in to administer a beatdown on his rival. If Zayn is winning before Battleground, the same should go for Owens. Neither man can afford to look even slightly weak going into the pay-per-view.
Dolph Ziggler looked competitive against Seth Rollins on last week's Raw, but the 'Show Off' doesn't really have a feud to sink his teeth into right now. Therefore, he'd be the perfect choice to match up against KO this coming week, because whilst a win would help Owens, it really wouldn't hurt Dolph.
Besides, they'd have an excellent match. As much as Ziggler is in stasis on the roster at the moment, he's still a superb piece of talent. He and Owens work very well together, and there's no reason to suspect things wouldn't be the same here.
Zayn could be out on guest commentary, coolly stating that he will pick his spot on Owens as revenge for SmackDown.
