If the option was there, WWE would probably consider dispensing with Battleground right now. The pay-per-view is coming at a bad time, mainly due to the upcoming WWE Draft but also because of the recent suspension suffered by Roman Reigns. Right now, that main event Triple Threat Match could be something kept for SummerSlam.

The company don't have the choice though, they have to press ahead without Reigns and build towards Battleground. That means Monday Night Raw is likely to feature more storyline filler, dedicated towards the idea that others could flood the situation and change the match dramatically.

There's a way to do this, whilst simultaneously furthering the idea that Stephanie McMahon isn't fond of Dean Ambrose and also still has a tentative relationship with her brother Shane.

Meanwhile, it's time to move some other stories on a little and start really shaping the Battleground card.

Both the WWE United States and WWE Tag-Team Title pictures need to become a little clearer over the next few weeks. That's something Raw could help with, so let's look at 10 different booking steps WWE may have in store for the show...

10. Stephanie McMahon & Seth Rollins Try To Mess With Dean Ambrose

On last week's show, Seth Rollins poked fun at the recent woes of Roman Reigns and generally came across as cocky. Meanwhile, Stephanie McMahon seems to have a problem with the idea of Dean Ambrose as WWE Champion, which is something she and Rollins have in common. That's a bond to work with.

From the outset of Raw, Stephanie and Seth could banter back and forth about Ambrose not being a good fit as champion. To prove this, McMahon hands Rollins a toy WWE Title and says he even looks better with a prop than the champion does with the real thing.

Naturally, that insult would bring out Ambrose. From there, Stephanie would say that Dean must prove he's worthy of being champ. At the same time, Kane has something to prove to her too, so she's making Ambrose vs. Kane for the program tonight.

The 'Lunatic Fringe' then asks what Rollins will be doing, causing Seth to butt in and state he plans to put his feet up and see how Ambrose handles a demon.
