10 Current Stars Who Should Have Been WWE Champion By Now

The guys who got close to the title... only for WWE to lose faith.

Professional Wrestling history is overflowing with talented wrestlers who should have been world champion, but for whatever reason were never given the opportunity. €œRowdy€ Roddy Piper, Jake €œThe Snake€ Roberts and Scott Hall are three legends that seem like they should have been champion, but never held the big one. The WWE Championship picture always seems somewhat impenetrable for certain wrestlers, even if they€™re more than qualified to be there. When a fan favourite like CM Punk or Daniel Bryan breaks out in a major way, it€™s cause for celebration among fans so cynical that they expect it to be traded between John Cena and Randy Orton forever. Over the past five years there have been thirty-one separate WWE Championship reigns, but only thirteen individuals were actually champion. In that time, WWE could, and should, have been more focused on making new stars instead of relying on the same small percentage of wrestlers to carry the title. With the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar appearing on less pay-per-views and even less Raws, it seems even harder for talent to break through and go for the gold. Here are ten current WWE wrestlers that really should have been World Heavyweight Champion by now.
