10 Most Disgusting WWE Promotional Tactics Ever

From mocking deaths to heart attacks, sometimes nothing is off limits for WWE.

World Wrestling Entertainment likes to pride themselves on being a show that is entertainment that is fun for the whole family, but let's not kid ourselves. They also love doing controversial things. They always have loved doing that and always will enjoy it. With that in mind, there have been a number of things that WWE has done in their history that make the fans scratch their heads and wonder why they would think something was a good idea. They are this huge company that has so many employees working on the creative side of the company - led by Chairman Vince McMahon - and yet they do a lot of stupid things. That's part of the creative process because when you produce so many shows for so many hours it's tough to always produce greatness. Bad stuff is going to happen. We all know that. It's time to look at some of the most disgusting promotional tactics that WWE has done with a look at things in the last 20 years or so. What's the definition of a disgusting promotional tactic? It's something that could be called cheap heat although in these cases it's more extreme than simply ripping on the local sports teams. A lot of these instances are things that are completely unnecessary on a pro wrestling show by disrespecting somebody that was dead, mocking somebody that was sick or simply making fun of somebody's appearance. The subject is something that is mentioned every year in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards where this is one of the categories. Thanks to them for the idea as we look back over the course of WWE's history for some of the worst of the worst in this category. Here's a look at some of those promotional tactics that we hope WWE wants to forget because of how silly and stupid some of them were.
