10 Disturbing WWE SmackDown Moments You Totally Don't Remember

Shane McMahon and his gang of growling blue-shirted idiots appeared willing to die for the imagined cause of 'brand supremacy' when they placed Monday Night Raw '#UnderSiege' to kick off the build-up to another inter-show Survivor Series.

Yet again, WWE offered no explanation as to why the roster members would be so committed to the fight, with the likes of Rusev and Baron Corbin's involvement actively illogical considering their recent respective plights in 'Shane-O-Mac's 'Land Of Opportunity'.

Becky Lynch ironically used her night drive to the next town to shed some light on her own reasons for getting involved in the chaos. A permanent Tuesday fixture since the 2016 Brand Split, Lynch argued that SmackDown was again finding itself subject to neglect at the expense of the flagship show. It was noble to try and wrap some context around an otherwise deeply flawed feud, but her violence will solve nothing to affect a change.

Monday Night Raw, on tenure alone, will always be Vince McMahon's baby. SmackDown kicked the doors to network television wide open in 1999, and ensured WWE would (at least) double their weekly output, but when push comes to shove, McMahon still gambles it all on red.

Raw's highs and lows are subsequently pored over as a result, but all sorts of moments both manic and magic have occurred on the 'B-show' that warrant closer inspection. SmackDown's status as the little brother at times even made it an opportune hiding place for some of the company's most outlandish creations.

Hardline right-winger, loud mouth red state bully and Fox News commentator John Bradshaw Layfield looked a little too excited to literally be hoofing Mexicans out of America in his near-the-knuckle programme with Eddie Guerrero.

Bludgeoning 'Latino Heat' and giving his mother a heart attack in the middle of a south-of-the-border house show may have appeared the most abhorrent things he could have done to his WWE Title rival after first turning heel in 2004, but the jingoistic jiggery pokery seemed to jive far too close to the heartfelt feelings of the tough-talking Texan.

Eddie's claret and Mrs G's chest-clutching were, in their own way, tried and true heat-grabbers in pro wrestling's rich history. Not least considering the mother and son's lineage in what was effectively the family business. JBL's bigotry lacked both the drama and pantomime of those relatively innocuous sports entertainment crimes.

In a debauched and darkened patrol of the United States borderline, 'The Wrestling God' revelled in sticking his boot up the *rse of a few innocent folk years before Joey Styles finally knocked him on his own. Memories of his slur-spewing from around this time only made the occasion that much more celebratory.
