Seventeen years after first wrestling the likes of Randy Savage and Bret Hart for WWE's top prize, and through his own reigns in the latter half of the nineties, 'The Heartbreak Kid' concluded his time in the singles championship scene at Survivor Series 2009.

The match, in which he and Triple H were unable to defeat John Cena in a triple threat, was the top bout of an underrated card, just one of numerous examples of Michaels sharing "match of the night" honors. Typical for HBK, whether it's a title match or not.

The final four months of Michaels' in-ring career focused on his teaming with Triple H as a Unified Tag Team champion, and his desire to be the one to end Undertaker's WrestleMania streak. But for Michaels, there would be no more bites at the biggest apple.
