10 Former WWE Stars Who Should Follow Steve Austin In Doing Podcasts

If Stone Cold can do it, who else would excel at taking a spin behind the mic?

When the biggest superstar of his era finally hung up his boots a decade ago, no one would have predicted that €œtalk show host€ would become a job he would hold down. However, the proliferation of iPods and podcasts opened that door, and 49-year-old €œStone Cold€ Steve Austin busted right through it, launching a new career hosting two regular podcasts (one family-friendly, one with a bit more €œattitude€). Austin has found something he handles with ease, and something that entertains both wrestling fans and non-fans. Austin is not the only former WWE superstar who has found success hosting a podcast. Semi-retired wrestler and rockstar Chris Jericho, former announcer €œGod Ol€™ J.R.€ Jim Ross and Jim Cornette are among those who take to the internet waves. Even the Honky Tonk Man has a podcast. So, if Stone Cold can do it, who else would excel at taking a spin behind the mic? What other former WWE superstars could captivate audiences with their own podcast?

Honorable Mention: Bobby €œThe Brain€ Heenan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiUwcLI00a8 This one almost makes longtime wrestling fans weep. Bobby Heenan is one of the most gifted performers in wrestling history. Whether it was managing, getting beat up in the ring or calling a match, very few €“ if any €“ could match The Brain. His wit and sense of humor were second to none. It€™s a no-brainer (pun intended) that that in a perfect world, The Weasel€™s podcast would be must-listen material. Sadly, throat cancer and a completely restructured jaw have robbed Heenan of his gift of gab. The man who could shred wrestlers and announcers on the mic now has trouble speaking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zljCbgON3Ac At least we always can relive Heenan€™s greatest hits on YouTube or the WWE Network.
