Paying your dues is an important chapter in the career of any fledgling professional wrestler.

It's also the most embarrassing and, in some cases, traumatising chapter. Triple H probably still has nightmares about the time Ultimate Warrior no sold his Pedigree, for example, and so too Bray Wyatt about his short-lived stint as Husky Harris (at least he would if his nightmares weren't preoccupied with reliving the last six months of his career).

But at least those guys took their first mainstream wrestling steps billed as an actual wrestler with an actual name. Others aren't so lucky: they have to make do instead with a walk-on role as a hapless security guard tasked with breaking up a fight, or worse yet, an extra in one of their elder's elaborate WrestleMania entrances.

It's a thankless task, but one that needs doing from time to time, and at the very least, it means that - even if you never get a real chance to make an impression in WWE's perennially out-of-reach promised land - you can at least say you appeared on Raw.

For a few precious seconds, anyway.

The two highest rated comments on the above YouTube video claim that Drake Younger - an NXT referee since his 2014 retirement - could hang with Ryback in a real scrap.

While we're not exactly convinced of that - dude is at least half his size, and not nearly as bald - it's probably true that the former CZW star who once made an art form of getting light-tubes smashed across his back would have put up more of a fight outside the constraints of kayfabe.

Actually, he didn't really look like a typical member of the WWE production team, either (his shirt just didn't hang right on his obvious wrestler shoulders), which is just as well - because a civilian may not have survived such a vicious assault from Ryback.

As luck would have it, Joey Ryan - for a bonus point - can also be seen coming to Younger's aid at the end of the scene, as Ryback trundles back over to Renee Young to finish his interview.
