10 Most Dangerous Wrestling Moves Ever

It ain't ballet!

Pro wrestling might not be a competitive sport but it's every bit as dangerous as pro football, hockey, rugby, MMA, or boxing. Wrestlers expose themselves to great risks while competing in the ring, from the hazards associated with botched moves to the simple wear and tear of continuous bumping. While WWE and other major companies have spent the past few years trying to make their in-ring action safer, pro wrestling will always have an inherent element of danger to it. Still, there are some moves that carry a far greater risk than others. Decades ago, when wrestling was a more methodical performance built around worked holds and strikes, the risk level was lower. While many of those moves have survived to the modern day, times have changed and fans have demanded more visually-exciting displays between the ropes. The result is that injuries are more frequent and usually much more serious - and even though WWE has banned many of the sport's most dangerous maneuvers, the damage they've caused continues. Here are the ten worst offenders - the moves that have shortened careers, impacted quality of life, and led to devastating injuries. Some are more common than others, but all are notably dangerous.
