10 Most Notorious Hulk Hogan Urban Legends

Was Hogan really supposed to be the NWO's 3rd man? Did Marvel have a problem with his name?

This past Monday on Raw, WWE spent three hours hyping up the birthday celebration of the WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. Normally a celebration takes place if somebody turns 40, 50, 60 or something like that. In Hogan's case he turned 61. It was an odd number to celebrate, but it was something WWE did likely because it happened to fall on a Monday. There really wasn't any explanation that was needed more than that. It's not like there's anything wrong with celebrating Hogan's birthday. Plus, he just returned to WWE in the last year so it made sense that WWE wanted to honor him. During Hogan's glorious 61 years on this Earth and nearly 40 years in the public eye, there have been a lot of stories about him. Some good. Some bad. There have also been some that are truth and some that are lies. The thing about Hogan is that even though he is one of the most famous wrestlers ever, he's also been known to fabricate some things too. It's actually a common practice for a lot of people in wrestling. They're paid to tell stories, so some of them do it even when they're not on camera. What we're here to look at today are some stories over the years and whether they are true or not. These are stories that have been told by others, by people close to Hogan, by people that don't like Hogan and by Hogan himself. As is the case with anything in wrestling, you never really know what's true and what's a lie. Some lies have been told so many time that people just believe them to be true. It's time to sift through some of these urban legends by presenting the story, discussing why people believe and whether or not they are believable. Here's a look at ten urban legends about the life and career of "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan.
