10 Most Popular Heel Wins In Wrestling History

Sometimes, the baddies do win...

In some strange way, there's always been something cool about the bad guys. In some form or fashion, the more evil characters in books, TV shows and movies play to people's fantasy. Yes, being good is nice and all, but the baddies seem to have way more fun, just look at Dick Dastardly from the popular cartoon 'Wacky Races'! This mindset extends to the world of pro wrestling. 'Heels' or 'villains' - as they are known - are typically complete rotters as human beings, the kind of folks who go out of their way to do the wrong thing, just because they can. Traditionally, these rogues were subject to scathing heat from wrestling fans, who - perhaps stereotypically - favoured the 'goody two shoes' babyfaces. Then, something changed, and radically. Suddenly, somewhere in the mid-1990's, people started to grow tired of the same old formula. Heels had been cheered sporadically before, but anti-heroism suddenly became much cooler than doing the right thing. All of a sudden, the industry shifted, and it's fair to say that the road of the babyface has been a rocky one ever since. Even now, many fans opt to cheer for heels over faces, likely feeling that they're rebelling somewhat with their choice. For that reason, even when characters have been portrayed on television as villains, some of their victories against big babyfaces have been greeted with immense satisfaction from crowds, and here are some of the biggest examples.
