10 Reasons Why Seth Rollins Will Never Eclipse CM Punk's Success

Why Rollins can never fully replace CM Punk.

There's a belief circulating around internet news circles that World Wrestling Entertainment is actively attempting to recast CM Punk's iconic success within the company instead as all honors that are attributable to Seth Rollins. For example, Punk's record-setting 434 day championship run (not unlike AJ Lee's iconic 295 day run) would be eclipsed by Rollins, alongside numerous other accomplishments, too. In not erasing, but rather replacing Punk's name in WWE's record books it would in effect remove much of Punk's legacy from having to be alluded to by commentators, and likely in WWE's eyes, remembered by fans, too. There's a value in WWE forgetting about Punk. Though he was the first of what are now many independent wrestling superstars to succeed in WWE, that's just it. In focusing on those doing what Punk did in that past in the present, there's a chance that hopefully one of them will reach and pass the levels of Punk's stardom within the company. However, for as much as WWE may want to think that Seth Rollins is the guy to replace CM Punk in the eyes of WWE fans, in all reality, he's not the best equipped performer for that task.
