10 Reasons WWE Booked Dean Ambrose Vs Brock Lesnar

WrestleMania will be the biggest night of Ambrose's career.

Dean Ambrose versus Brock Lesnar is a surprise addition to the WrestleMania card, with WWE throwing away the substantial build they put into Lesnar versus Bray Wyatt for April 3. Wyatt had already attacked Lesnar on Raw, in addition to costing him the Royal Rumble. While it wasn't exactly the most inspiring build, it did have narrative potential and would've at least been an entertaining in-ring match for the would-be 100,000 fans at Cowboys Stadium. But, in what felt like a sudden move, WWE changed it to an Ambrose/Lesnar feud and match instead. Wyatt's planned run-in to cost Lesnar at Fastlane never happened, and WWE instead focused on heating up exchanges between The Beast and The Lunatic Fringe. H Here's why Vince McMahon made the decision to switch from Lesnar/Bray to Lesnar/Ambrose.

10. Bray Wyatt Wasn't Over Enough

One of the most immediate factors in WWE's decision making was how tepid the reactions were to The Wyatt Family attacking Brock Lesnar. It just didn't feel big enough for a WrestleMania match, and fans were vocal in expressing that disappointment online. Likewise, critics and insiders expressed indifference to the match, feeling it wasn't quite big enough. Wyatt is a solid in-ring talent, he's had great matches, and he is skilled on the mic. Yet he isn't really over as a big time star. Feeding him to John Cena and The Undertaker at consecutive WrestleManias, as well other high-profile losses to the likes of Roman Reigns, it is part of why he simply isn't over enough for a match with Brock Lesnar.
