10 Reasons WWE Were Right To Retire Daniel Bryan

Bryan had wanted to wrestle again.

Daniel Bryan has officially retired from WWE, following a medical check last week which showed his brain wasn't in the condition it should be. Years of concussions have finally caught up to him, which WWE had been adamant about for the last six months. Facing up to the reality of the situation, and with plans to start a family with his wife Brie, the popular WWE superstar has finally accepted that he can't take any chances with his health. Despite months of protest that he was fit and able to wrestle, he has now announced his in-ring career is over. Really, this was a WWE decision. The company has been steadfast in their analysis of his condition, with Dr Joseph Maroon refusing to clear Bryan. Unable to pass WWE's tests, he has been sat at home for the past six months. Even before the formal retirement, the company perhaps already considered him a retired superstar. His medical checks just weren't up to their stringent standards. Some could still argue that maybe Bryan was right, maybe he could have had more matches. The medical team at UCLA certainly thought he was okay to continue on in pro wrestling. But let's have no doubt about this, the WWE did the right thing. Even if there were conflicting reports, even if there is a degree of over-worrying in the company in regard to concussions, WWE should be commended for not taking a chance. They've put wrestler health over business interests. Here's an in-depth look at the reasons WWE were right to force retirement upon Daniel Bryan.
