10 Times Companies Have Dropped The Ball With Sting

An Icon he may be, but every company continually frustrates Sting's fans!

Wrestling fans around the world rejoiced upon the news that the 'Icon' Sting had signed with WWE last year. As much as people were excited however, many felt it was simply a contract which would cover video game appearances, a DVD box set, and maybe that old chestnut, the WWE Legends contract. As the months rolled by, speculation began to ramp up that the Stinger would be a part of Wrestlemania in some fashion, and it now seems certain that WWE intend to use the man as an in-ring talent, which will prove a historic moment for sure. One of the best-loved characters in NWA/WCW history, Sting also had a lengthy tenure with TNA, but it's likely WWE will elect not to mention that throughout the man's run with the company. Even though fans reminisce about Sting's past, the fact remains that there have been multiple occasions on which each promotion booking him has written something utterly ridiculous for the man, and often undermined him in the process. With a lesser star, this could prove more damaging, but Sting has managed to ride the crest of the wave since his first big singles push in the late 80's. There hasn't been success without strife though, just check out these examples of when promotions dropped the ball with the man behind the face paint.
