10 Ways TNA Can Attract More Pro Wrestling Fans

TNA_Impact_Wrestling_0008 I first became aware of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling after flicking onto it back in 2006, and ever since I have been a fan of the product they provide. It was through this organisation alongside my prolonged love for WWE that allowed me to appreciate the art of telling a story through wrestling, and what great technical wrestling is. Wrestlers such as AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe and Abyss immediately caught the eye as absolute master ringsmen, and I remember explicitly saying in my early days of watching this product why they weren't competing for WWE? Now, TNA has gone from strength to strength, with its own weekly television shows, monthly Pay-Per-Views, and a deep roster that boasts both TNA originals that honed their skills in the Independent Leagues and household names to any wrestling fans that have attracted a new wave of pro wrestling fans. However, it cannot be denied that TNA languishes behind WWE in terms of television ratings and fan attendances. Recent TV ratings have seen their viewership declining, despite producing an excellent show for wrestling purists this week. This has been a slight on the wrestling business, as the Monday Night Wars clearly demonstrated that competition breeds the most compelling product. Without an adversary, WWE has been allowed to rest on its laurels, and whilst still being entertaining, it certainly is not pushing the envelope in the same way it used to. But, how can TNA reach a level where they can be considered a viable threat to the WWE's monopoly over wrestling? So far the process of hiring famous names in the business such as Hulk Hogan and Kurt Angle have only gotten them so far, and the attempts to compete effectively with WWE have yet to produce any headway. So, I hope in the next presentation to help project some ideas as to how TNA can extend their fan base to the fullest possible extent without becoming the same as WWE. TNA is effective because it has a certain charm of its own, and that must be maintained to continue to build upon the growth they have already seen in the last decade. Also, I will hope to lure any wrestling fan that has only fleetingly considered TNA to give it a watch because some of the action and intrigue it provides its audience makes it a compelling watch alongside WWE.
