10 Ways Wrestlers' Bodies Changed Forever Because Of Wrestling

WrestleMania 33 was supposed to be it for The Undertaker.

Folding his jacket and leaving it, his hat, and gloves in a neat little pile after a cumbersome battle with Roman Reigns, his post-main event farewell felt very much like a retirement ceremony. We now know that this wasn't the case, though news that he'd checked into a New York City facility for "major" hip surgery a few weeks later strengthened the assumptions.

'The Deadman' went in for an overdue hip replacement. He'd been living with the pain for years and the procedure was much-needed, but it didn't lead to the end of his in-ring career. While it took a full year before 'Taker would wrestle again, he has never been able to walk away from the squared circle entirely, even with his body more broken down and movements more stunted than ever.

While your writer isn't in the business of telling grown professionals what they can and can't do with their bodies, it's a shame that 'Taker has felt the need to put his body through such hell for our entertainment. Here's hoping he lets himself rest before long.
