10 Worst Physiques In WWE Today

Wrestling has always been a cosmetic business. The stars of the sport need a level of athleticism to succeed, and for that reason they're usually in good shape - even so, though, in order to truly give off a larger-than-life aura, they often try to look like circus strongmen. This became especially true in the 1980s, when Vincent J. McMahon took control of the sport. To this day, McMahon favors stars who look more like bodybuilders than traditional wrestlers.

Of course, there are always those who fall outside the traditional "look." Even today, when WWE's product seems more homogeneous than ever before, there are men who are carrying a few extra pounds. For some of those guys, it works - they look like big, burly brawlers, and their overall athleticism isn't affected. Others could probably stand to hit the treadmill a bit more. Either way, these are the 10 worst physiques in WWE today.

Still, let's not be too judgmental - after all, It's the day after Thanksgiving, which means that many people around the United States are starting a brand-new diet. Most of us regret a lot of the food choices we made yesterday and before - so let's consider this nothing more than a loving tribute to girth.

10. Samoa Joe

Two-time and current NXT Champion Samoa Joe has always been on the larger size - more than a decade ago, when he was taking the world of wrestling by storm as the Ring of Honor Champion, he was known as a burly brawler with an uncanny athleticism. Today, he's got the same reputation.

Most people agree that Joe lost a step in TNA - age, injuries, and a lack of motivation brought on by a dead-end job seemed to take their toll on the world-class superstar. Coming to WWE in 2015, though, he managed to turn the clock back and remind everybody just why he dominated the sport with such ease.

Today, the 37-year-old Joe still tips the scales at more than 280 pounds, but he has no trouble keeping pace with Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, or any other NXT star with whom he crosses paths. And when Joe busts out a senton or a suicide dive in the midst of a heated match, he proves why he's a one-of-a-kind star.
