10 Wrestlers Who Deserve More Respect

Blocking out noise, rising above hate and flying under the respect radar...

Respect is earned. Disrespect, often, isn't.

Pro wrestling's core fanbase uses a strange barometer to decide when showing recognition for someone's efforts is OK. This isn't a new thing, but it is a behavioural pattern that has grown arms and legs over the past decade or so. There's a sense of clique-ish entitlement at large going on in 2019, one that's akin to kids chucking toys from prams if they don't get their own way.

Obviously, wrestling is entertainment, and so it is fairly understandable that some would feel the need to stamp their feet and publicly show their displeasure if they're not enjoying what's presented. That only works when there's something worth fighting against though. All too often, that's not the case, and such outrage usually comes across as put on, exaggerated or childish as a result.

The 10 wrestlers here have all been victims of social media backlash, industry-wide witch hunting or ill-deserved (and sometimes cruel) taunting. Whilst that was going on, few stopped to think of the positives or appreciate that maybe, just maybe, they're deserving of a little more admiration...
