10 WWE Bitch Slaps Heard Around The World

8. Brie Bella Slaps Stephanie McMahon - Battleground 2014

Stephanie has been involved in her fair share of bitch slap moments during her tenure in WWE. However, this one was a particularly sweet one for fans who felt burned out, frustrated, and fatigued by Stephanie and Hunter€™s constant burying of their chosen hero Daniel Bryan. After WWE finally listened to their audience and decided to put Daniel Bryan over at Wrestlemania XXX (and regardless of what they say, it is clear based off how the elevation was treated both before and after the moment, they never had any real intention of putting the title on Bryan), the rug was pulled out from them - injury troubles unfortunately meant that Daniel Bryan€™s reign was over for 2014. Bryan€™s wife Brie Bella picked up the mantle and ran with it however, and based off how popular her husband was, she legitimately had the crowd behind her. At Payback earlier in the year Stephanie was in the process of forcing Bryan to give up the championship because the WWE Universe needed an active champion - which they then proceeded to put on the part time competitor Brock Lesnar (but that's another story). Part of the threat was that if he didn€™t give it up then his wife Brie would be fired. Much to the delight of a rowdy and practically salivating Chicago crowd, Brie told Stephanie that she didn€™t care about the threat and that she quit, before raining down one of the most excellently executed bitch slaps we have had the pleasure of seeing, straight on to the face of the billion dollar princess. Steph€™s selling was superb and as she skulked out of the ring, the audience at home and in the arena was rapturous. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmD-LdZs2pc This entry will no doubt be on everyone€™s highlight reel for 2014 and it would be much higher on this list if it wasn€™t for one crucial point €“ this slap set in motion the wheels that would lead to the Brie vs Nikki storyline which was hands down the lowest part of 2014, and one of the worst storylines in history. If this slap wasn€™t implicitly responsible for that train wreck, it would be a much more relished memory amongst fans who at the time definitely enjoyed seeing Stephanie on the receiving end of some karma.
