10 WWE Directions From SummerSlam To Survivor Series

Seth Rollins is facing time up as Champion.

With SummerSlam concluded, WWE are now embarking on their fall season towards Survivor Series. It is traditionally a minefield of critical and commercial disappointment, with past years being a snooze-fest before creative start to think towards WrestleMania. Worryingly, it is also a period in which television ratings fall. When you consider that viewership is already in the gutter, things could get really ugly in the coming months. Pay per view performance has also been bad in this season, so Network subscriptions are also likely to fall. Aware of all of that, WWE are surely preparing a strong line up of directions for the SummerSlam to Survivor Series period. This feature will take a look at some of the directions, and what could be main eventing the forthcoming major shows.

10. Seth Rollins Isn't Staying A Double Champion For Long

WWE Champion Seth Rollins won John Cena's US Title at SummerSlam, meaning that he is now a double champion. But there's no upside to keeping both titles on Rollins for a long period of time. WWE are faced with a few choices. They could just retire the US Belt, unifying it with the WWE Title. Or, more likely, Rollins will be forced into double duty at Night Of Champions, when all WWE belts are set to be defended. At that point, WWE should take the opportunity to transition the US belt off him, perhaps to a guy like Neville who came so close to beating him on Raw recently. He'd then go on to defend his WWE belt later in the special against John Cena. The other choice is getting the WWE Title off him, which would make sense for a Sheamus cash-in. Rollins would then be left with the US Title to continue his feud with Cena, while Sheamus would take the WWE title scene in a fresh direction. WWE could still go either way at this stage, but dropping one belt is a must.
