10 WWE Wrestlers Who Get Way Too Much Criticism

7. Sheamus

Another victim of WWE’s suspect booking (and the League of Nations disaster), Sheamus has, fortunately, shown some signs of recovery lately. The Cesaro feud ended in farce, but their odd couple act is a smart storyline on a show devoid of creativity, and the duo should be a huge hit in WWE’s tag division for as long as they’re allowed to be.

That said, Sheamus lost the crowd a long time ago, and even the Cesaro angle has done little to get them back on his side. He spent years languishing as an atrocious playground bully style babyface on the upper-midcard, and was never a popular choice as WWE Champion. Last year’s run with the belt was particularly egregious, and the fans became sick of him long before his inexplicable Money in the Bank victory and subsequent feud with Randy Orton.

Dull, bland, boring: these are the kind of adjectives normally associated with Sheamus’ name, but when booked correctly, Sheamus has proved himself as a very effective heel. He’s one of the company’s best brawlers between the ropes, and when he’s allowed to be a vicious mauler, Sheamus is incredibly convincing, and one of Raw’s best workers. Sadly, some will never be able to see past the years of misuse.
