13 Things We Learned From New Day On Talk Is Jericho

The trio joke about becoming stereotypes, the horrible early names for the group and much more.

The trio of Kofi Kingston, Big E. and Xavier Woods has been on fire lately, putting on good matches and being a part of some pretty entertaining segments, especially their taunting of current tag team champions The Prime Time Players. When the three were first paired up there was optimism among their fans that it would lead to a huge push for these under-appreciated workers, but at first it didn't work out that way. After initially stalling out, a change in approach for the three characters kicked off what's become one of the most entertaining gimmicks in the company. The power of positivity has become a great heel philosophy and Kofi, E. and Woods are drawing some of the most heat of any acts on the main roster. The three sat down for an interview with Chris Jericho that highlighted their natural chemistry and fun-loving personalities. It's obvious they're having a blast working together and hopefully they can continue to build momentum and rise up the cards, because they've quickly become one of the best parts of WWE programming. Read on and see what we learned in a hilarious interview with New Day on Talk Is Jericho.

13. Xavier's PhD

Jericho opens by pointing out that Woods is the one he knows the least out of the three, and the relative newcomer tells his story saying that he's wanted to do this sort of character for a while, since in his real life he's snarky and sarcastic. He says that he was getting beat by Rusev consistently down in NXT and when he came up to the main roster Rusev followed him up and continued to beat him. "He's gonna get ya!" adds Kofi. Xavier mentions that he's pursuing his PhD, which Jericho seemed surprise was legit. He asks what school he's obtaining it from and he reveals he's studying through Walden University, which is an online college. Chris teases him about it, and he responds that he's going to be doing the work of the world, building a future because "it's a lot easier to build a strong child than to fix a broken adult." Big E. jokingly remarks that they've heard that spiel quite a few times.
