15 Things We Learned From Kevin Owens On Talk Is Jericho
WWE's BFFs discuss the new Universal champ's impressive run.
Kevin Owens is the man in WWE right now. After winning the newly-created Universal championship - the main title on the flagship Raw brand - KO has been positioned as the top guy in the entire company. It's a spot most people never envisioned for the former independent scene standout, but it's one that's well-deserved.
Owens and his ally Chris Jericho have become one of the most entertaining aspects of WWE programming, and whether teaming together in the ring or doing backstage segments, their chemistry is off the charts. The new champion seems to be someone who has great chemistry with nearly every talent he interacts with, and he's a huge asset for Raw.
The two self-described best friends got together for a fun conversation as Jericho interviewed "the longest-reigning Universal champion" about his amazing 15-month run on the main roster, covering all the highlights. There's a touching story involving John Cena and Kevin's son, Owen, a hilarious Vince tale and heavy descriptions of Kevin's relationships with Triple H and Dusty Rhodes, plus much more.

15. What It Felt Like To Become Champion
The two kick things off really playing up the "best friends" shtick, and Jericho recalls that the last time he had Owens on his show was when he was still at the Performance Center shortly before he transitioned to Raw and began his program against John Cena.
Chris comments that it's remarkable how far KO has come and how much has happened for him in the last 15 months. Kevin says that even though the title is called something else, he still feels as if he's holding the same WWE world championship that he witnessed Shawn Michaels win from Bret Hart at WrestleMania 12, the match that solidified professional wrestling as the dream he wanted to chase.
The first bout he vividly recalls watching and thinking he wanted to become a wrestler was The Heartbreak Kid against Diesel at WrestleMania 11, and then he saw Bret Hart wrestle Diesel at Survivor Series and said it blew his mind, calling it the craziest thing he'd ever seen. But Shawn fulfilling his boyhood dream winning the Iron Man match with The Hitman was what really set him on his path.
Owens admits it's pretty incredible that he's been fortunate enough to accomplish what he's dreamed of doing since he was a child.
