If WWE don't subtitle January's Royal Rumble as 'Beauty & The Beast', there's something wrong.

OK, maybe not (and that might be encroaching on Brock Lesnar territory anyway), but Daniel Bryan's new haircut has returned the former goat to his G.O.A.T dapperness, and the company might need another hook for any Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt rematch early next year. For now, it seems, that is the plan going forwards.

This week's SmackDown was largely uneventful aside from Dan's fiery opening salvo and The Revival tearing through "sports entertainment" tropes. Still, there was enough to glean 18 hidden gems from the broadcast, including contrasting achievement lists for some of WWE's best, Dash Wilder referencing last week's embarrassing slip, a hint that Carmella is headed for a push during 'Mania season and Scott Dawson body shaming poor Otis.

Elsewhere, Shinsuke Nakamura couldn't be arsed helping out his partner, company cameramen had a rough old night, Dolph Ziggler favoured direction over selling and one of SmackDown's evil witches turned into a good girl just in time for Christmas.

She must've known Santa would be watching...
