So, Battleground might have been a low-point for the PPV calendar, but at least it might mean the current trajectory of WWE is changed a bit. As a reflection of that thinking, news this week focused on the plans for John Cena (and Jinder Mahal dropping the belt finally), hints at main roster talent being sent down to NXT (along with ROH's Donovan Dijak), and the possibility of a two thirds reunion of the Shield.

If that sounds like conscious attempts to please the fan-base - just as the triple threat on Raw of Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns - it's probably because it's all very necessary.

Elsewhere there are hints of Shane McMahon versus Kevin Owens at SummerSlam, of Jason Jordan versus The Miz on the same card and of Brock Lesnar facing Jon Jones in UFC while he's still contracted to WWE. Anything that blows a few cobwebs off can't be a bad thing.

There's also significant reason to be cheerful this week, not least because Battleground is out of the way and we're probably as far away from another Punjabi Prison Match as humanly possible. As if to celebrate, the Total Divas took off to Cabo, Rey Mysterio jumped out of a plane and Matt Hardy once again teased a Broken rebirth. All perfect selfie opportunities on social media.

25. Rey's Jump

Even when he's jumping out of the sky, Rey Mysterio commits fully to the mask life.

He also officially announced his appearance with WCPW in Leeds in August, where he'll face Ricochet...
